"Having opened its Georgetown location earlier this month, I found Great Notion Brewing offers 20 beers on tap with cans available to preorder through an app, plus seating on an outdoor tented patio and a painted railroad car parked outside for neighborhood-specific flair. Built on a strong Portland following and multiple World Beer Cup medals, the brewery is known for weekly can launches that draw lines for pastry stouts, fruited sours, and hazy IPAs, and for its culinary series—Mochi (Japanese mochi ice cream flavors), Jammy Pants (berry jam), and Baklava (nuts and honey). At the Georgetown spot there are Seattle-specific beers including The Sound, a double IPA brewed with citral, Amarilla, and Vic Secret hops, and Squatchbat Larry, a sour made with mixed berries and vanilla. Customers can currently bring food from neighboring businesses like Fonda La Catrina or Falafel Salam to eat on the patio while the brewery works on serving items on-site, hopes to bring shelf-stable Great Notion snacks from its Portland kitchens soon, and is even brainstorming turning the railroad car into a food-truck-style space; the location sits at 6235 Airport Way S, not far from Lowercase Brewing, and a planned Ballard outpost at 5101 14th Avenue NW has been delayed." - Gabe Guarente
