"Opening in the middle of a state shutdown and national pandemic, I watched Berlin Bar quietly debut in the Arts District inside The Charleston mixed-use building at 201 E. Charleston Boulevard at Casino Center Boulevard. They're operating under current restrictions with non-contact service, social distancing, curbside takeout, delivery, and online ordering while road-testing a fast-casual menu of hot dogs, pita, tacos, hummus, and fries; the concept was originally conceived as German street food with a quirky interior and craft beer, and the menu comes from the co-founders of local food truck Dude Where’s My Hotdog. Customers can order from 10 hot dog creations, including the $9 Rebel Dog with fried onions, bacon, and chili, and the $10 “Tamoya/Ass Cobra” built with udon noodles, an egg, mayo, and teriyaki sauce, with vegan substitutes available. Chicken and asada tacos are $3.50 each, fries can be stacked with carne or chicken asada, there's a hummus pita, and the $11 “chicken böner kaböb” is prepared with tzatziki sauce, lettuce, cabbage, and hummus. Patrons will need to wait to see the indoor murals, it's unknown whether Berlin intends to apply for a license to accommodate curbside alcohol orders, and hours are listed as 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily (702-985-4674)." - Bradley Martin
