Rebuilt Key Arena Shows Off Proposed Fancy Restaurant - Eater Seattle
"There is still no name yet for the NHL Seattle team planning its 2021 debut — but its eventual home seems to be progressing. New design renderings show what seven areas might look like inside the New Arena at Seattle Center (the rebuilt Key Arena), including several devoted to food and drink. Specifically, there’s a fancy-looking bistro called the Metropolitan Club, which will be accessible only to those who purchase premium tickets. There will also be a food hall called the Mount Baker Club and two separate areas serving craft beer from local breweries. The Oak View Group — an investment company leading the charge on the nearly $1 billion project — released the renderings, with five of the seven spaces classified as “premium.” The two areas accessible for around 1,300 general-ticket holders on the upper level of the arena are the food hall and the Space Needle Club, which will offer views of the iconic building and serve cocktails. Oak View Group CEO Tim said the clubs are designed to be tucked away “so they don’t disrupt the culture of the fans in the [rink].” The suites and other associated spaces shown in the renderings represent around 20 percent of all seating options at the arena. There are still no new details on specific food and drink offerings, although a designer at the architecture firm behind the seven spaces mentioned to the Seattle Times that the food hall would be a “pop-up experience,” suggesting that the vendors may rotate regularly.
