"Closed for months after a major early-morning fire on Sunday 22 September, the restaurant’s owner said the damage will force a long-term shutdown after 80 firefighters were called out at 8:44 a.m.; the blaze destroyed the third floor and left the second floor seriously damaged. While no one was injured, two people were led to safety by the London Fire Brigade and four others had already evacuated before twelve fire engines arrived. The eatery, which offers a menu spanning China’s regional cuisines, is run by a well-known local restaurateur who has also been active in community protests over heavy-handed immigration raids, arguing for fair treatment of the Chinese community." - James Hansen
