"I visited a breezy, bright restaurant and bar developed by Kevin Rhodes (whose Groundswell Brewing Co. has locations in Grantville and Chula Vista) that brings a tropical, island-infused vibe to downtown Chula Vista. The menu, from executive chef Jeremy Galapon (formerly of the Bali Hai, George’s at the Cove and Common Theory), spans multiple island cuisines with dishes such as Hawaiian loco moco, huli huli chicken, Japanese yakisoba and Filipino garlic rice bowls topped with pork tocino; live entertainment is offered on Sundays. The rum-forward cocktail program was created by Snake Oil Cocktail Co. and includes a signature Lime in the Coconut made with rum, housemade lime oleo, coconut cream and fresh pineapple juice, alongside classics like Mai Tais, Zombies and Scorpions." - Candice Woo
