"I learned that the North Tabor pizzeria American Dream Pizza has closed unexpectedly; it opened in 1985, making it one of Portland’s oldest dedicated pizza restaurants and the origin of a Corvallis chain. Co-founder Sebastian Malinow told the Oregonian that a planned sale to two former employees fell through earlier this month, he plans to retire, and he hopes to find new buyers who will keep the pizzeria as is. A note taped to the door says the restaurant is “temporarily closed for cleaning and minor remodeling” and that they are looking for new ownership (interested parties should email americandreamportland4sale@gmail.com). The pizzeria is known for its pizza box art contests and claims to be among the first in Portland to make hand-rolled crust and serve Widmer beer." - Janey Wong
