Arlington Newcomer Bread & Water Company Is Now Open on Pentagon Row | Eater DC

"I saw photos and a handwritten blackboard outside the newly refurbished Pentagon Row kiosk announcing a “Soft opening! Come buy what we’ve got! And enjoy.” Customers on opening day were pictured eyeing a rack full of bread and a sack of baguettes; an espresso machine looked fully operational, but much of the outpost still appeared to be a work in progress. This Arlington debut from the Alexandria-based bakery offers at its flagship assorted breads and pastries, gourmet salads (some with seasonal fruit, others with ancient grains), and hearty sandwiches — for example an eggs, bacon, and cheddar breakfast sandwich and a roasted chicken salad with red grapes and onion jam served later in the day.
