Highland Park’s Civil Coffee Rolls Into Downtown With Glossy New Plans | Eater LA

"Taking over the short-lived Stumptown address at 120 E. 8th Street in the Fashion District/South Park near Sonoratown, the Morales brothers are reviving a golden-retro space with a curving bar and tall glass windows (but no outdoor seating). The coffee shop had been open for less than a year before the March 2020 lockdown and sat silent for two years until they scooped it up; they’ll be doing daily coffee service and cafe snacks from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside, with an opening expected as soon as next week." - Farley Elliott
