"Opening in North Park on Thursday, October 27, NFT bar Botanica is a swanky, 1,500-square-foot lounge where I can buy digital collectibles while knocking back spirits and wagyu oyster tartare. Backed by Be Saha Hospitality Group (the team behind Tahona and Wormwood), the food menu is developed by executive chef Tiffany Tran alongside Janina Garay from Michelin-starred Addison, while Marina Ferreira of RoseWater Cocktail Co. has crafted drinks centered on genever — a Dutch malted grain spirit (literally Dutch for “juniper”) that at Botanica is served in prim flutes and meant to be drunk with one hand behind the back per Dutch custom. The cocktail list leans botanical and includes options like the No. 1 Swan (served in a vintage swan bowl with Monkey 47 gin topped with Thomas Keller caviar) and the Meditative Rose (genever with notes of rose, sandalwood, and harissa). Food offerings range from wagyu oyster tartare to salmon served three ways, croquettes, and farmers-market crudité with avocado hummus. One entire wall is dedicated to digital art in partnership with San Diego–based blockchain company Humbl, with sales benefiting the nonprofit Create Purpose. Botanica will debut October 27, will be open Wednesday through Monday, and is located at 3139 University Avenue." - Paolo Bicchieri
