"Nickerson Street Saloon, located beside the Fremont Bridge, announced it is closing for good on Halloween night. Originally constructed in 1928, it became the 318 Tavern in 1948, and was later bought by bartenders Chris Gerke and Jay Farias in 1995, becoming Nickerson Street Saloon. The building is set for demolition to make way for a mixed-use complex." - Mark Van Streefkerk
