"After trying the German-style döner kabob and ćevapi on soft Bosnian lepinja at their quietly opened Caniff Street spot this spring, I understand why Balkan House was a breakout hit of 2019; owner Juma Ekic—whose family story was profiled by the New York Times—says nearly half the restaurant’s clientele comes from Ferndale, so it makes sense they’re opening a new outpost there in November, expected to debut by mid-month at 314 W Nine Mile Rd.
