"Opened in October 1923 as part of a craze in the city of 'apartment hotels'. In 1934, Col. Harry Stewart purchased the building and hired famed interior designer Dorothy Draper to decorate. The hotel recreated many of her designs in 2008 that are open to the public to view on the 11th floor. It includes rooms designed in an English manor home style with some art deco flare. The dining room on the ground floor offers chef Esayas Estifanos’s baby back ribs with a unique rub of spices from South Asia and Africa." - Courtney E. Smith
