"Later this week, popular Montrose Mediterranean restaurant Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine will debut its second Houston location in Garden Oaks. A post to the restaurant’s Facebook page announces its opening at 1737 West 34th Street, across the street from the development that will house the forthcoming location of Les Ba’get. That part of the city has seriously improved its dining offerings in recent years, thanks to the opening of popular restaurants like Gatlin’s BBQ, The Union Kitchen, and SweetCup Gelato. When Aladdin makes its debut in Garden Oaks, it will serve the same menu of kebabs, chicken shawarma, and massive mezze platters that made the restaurant a Montrose classic. It’s a favorite of chef Chris Shepherd and vegetarians alike thanks to its super-fresh fare, bountiful hummus options, and that absurdly addictive garlic sauce that’s a perfect accompaniment to the restaurant’s freshly-fired pita. Aladdin will open its doors in Garden Oaks on Thursday, July 12." - Amy McCarthy
