The Sentinel and House of Shields Reopen in Downtown San Francisco | Eater SF

"I'm excited that The Sentinel, the corner SoMa sandwich legend, is reopening — it's known for a rotating menu of big sandwiches and, most notably, the corned beef with Swiss, slaw, and Russian dressing on grilled focaccia. Closed since March 2020, the shop is returning with a limited sandwich menu after deep cleaning and repairs (the unplugged fridges failed), and the owner prefers to keep it a walk-up instead of partnering with delivery apps.
