"Opening on the ground floor of The Smith Center this spring, this new café and tea lounge aims to offer theatergoers a “timeless classic” afternoon high tea during Broadway Series and other high-profile performances, in addition to its regular coffee service. The space includes two indoor lounge areas seating 48 and a patio for 36; tea service must be reserved 24 hours in advance and will be accompanied by a live jazz trio. The special menu features finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry preserve, a selection of afternoon teacakes and pastries, and 12 different types of loose-leaf tea. Designed locally by Novus Architecture to present a modern, sophisticated look that complements the Smith Center, the venue will include a living green wall similar to the operator’s downtown expansion and is aiming to be open seven days a week with an estimated May debut." - Bradley Martin
