How Islanders Bar Offside Tavern Was Reborn Inside UBS Arena

"After a chance tweet and subsequent conversations with the team, the bar is being reborn as a licensed outpost inside UBS Arena, where the owner helped name and design menu items and supplied original signs, photos, helmets, glassware and even the original storefront letters as nods to the Chelsea location. The arena spot—located between sections 217 and 317—will focus on cocktails (new Islanders‑themed drinks will be unveiled on opening night) because the concession space lacks cooking capabilities; the owner is also pushing to have the signature Tater Trotz available elsewhere in the arena. Operated under a licensing arrangement so the owner isn’t running day‑to‑day concessions, the space aims to capture the original’s authentic, dive‑bar energy without clashing with the arena’s décor, and the owner plans to be on site for games (but not working behind the bar).
