The 25 Best Restaurants In Paris 2024

"Cheval d’Or has been a Belleville restaurant since 1987, and its red facade hasn’t changed since (nor has the vintage wood fridge in the kitchen that you can spot from the window). What’s different is the international team running it and what they’re cooking. Now, it's one of the only places in Paris that do a menu of French-Chinese mashups in a soaring, industrial-chic space that fits in with the area’s bohemian vibe. Stylish locals and their friends sit alongside food and wine industry pros and devour whole roast duck, lobster-stuffed croque madame topped with chili oil, or foie gras wontons swimming in a flavorful superior stock. The French inspiration extends to dessert. There's a twist on the Paris-Brest called the Paris Belleville where hazelnut praline cream is swapped for red bean buttercream and sesame praline, making for an indulgent finish. " - sara lieberman, lindsey tramuta
