Mahalo Hawaiian BBQ

"Mahalo’s Hawaiian BBQ on South Street makes decent BBQ meat and chicken, but it also has a number of Japanese fusion dishes that really miss the mark.  The walls are covered in Hawaii-inspired palm tree art, and there’s an ordering kiosk—which you’ll need, since there are always at least five delivery guys waiting for an order upfront. Hopefully, they’re only grabbing an order of the sweet BBQ chicken (and not the oily chicken katsu or bland pork gyoza). Every combination platter comes with a side of fluffy white rice and a flavorless macaroni salad. But since the portions of meat are so massive, you can just eat the good stuff and still be full for under $15." - Candis R. McLean
