"If you’ve ever walked down Eight Street near Metropolis in Midtown then you’re already familiar with the tempting aroma that comes wafting from Blue India. But it’s not some advertising trick luring you under false pretenses—the Indian dishes here are that packed with intense, delicious flavors. The tandoor-cooked meats come out still sizzling on a hot plate, and the lamb rogan josh has a rich, dark sauce with a hint of mint that helps cut the spiciness. In fact, there are more than 20 different curries to choose from (which makes choosing hard since we've not found a bad one yet). Dark blue booths and accent walls give the space a moody feel, even during the daytime. So hit this spot during lunch or a casual dinner when good, well-seasoned food is important. Food Rundown Lamb Rogan Josh This curry has a dark, rich sauce. Tender chunks of lamb swim in the spicy brown stuff, and a hint of mint cuts the spice level down a few notches. It’s one of our favorite curries here. Tandoori Mixed Grill We like to order this when we can’t decide what meat we want. The mix of meat (seasoned chicken, seekh kebab, giant garlic prawns, and chicken tikka) comes out sizzling on a hot plate straight from the clay ovens. Chicken Tikka Masala Their take on this staple keeps things simple and delicious. The sauce is uber-creamy with a gentle heat for the light weights. Crispy Bhindi Chaat The okra is sliced a little too thin, which means it gets a little too charred. But this is still a solid starter to split with a group. Punjabi Samosas Huge, a little spicy, and filled with potatoes and peas, these samosas need to be the first thing you order." - Juli Horsford
