Mikado

Sushi restaurant · Brooklyn Heights

"Mikado has six locations, which is great, because you’re six times as likely to live near one. The rolls here are short, wide and stuffed to the brim with soft hunks of fish, and the nigiri are adorned with things like yuzu kosho or paper-thin slices of jalapeño. We usually go for one of their sets, like the four roll maki set, or the one with two rolls and four pieces of sushi. Or, splurge on the $99 set for two—it comes with a piece of cheesecake. You’ll see a lot of people doing takeout here, but if you want to get out of your house and eat some sushi in the presence of fake flowers, keep in mind that Mikado has a sushi Happy Hour from 3:30-6:30pm. Beer is $3, wine is $5, edamame is $1, and sushi rolls are $6." - Willa Moore
