"A long walk down the North Beach boardwalk is the best thing a Miamian can do on a sunny afternoon. The second best thing is to end that walk with a sunset dinner at Sushi Bichi. This outdoor restaurant is directly across from the beach and has a long menu of sushi rolls, a crunchy chicken karaage sandwich, and more mostly Japanese small plates. While the food is good and the service is great, the point of this place is to sit outside and let the ocean breeze gently stroke your face. So save it for a nice day or a post-beach meal. It’s not casual enough to show up shirtless, but you won’t be turned away if you arrive in a still-damp bathing suit. Food Rundown Shrimp Tempura The shrimp are good but you should get this just so you can put the housemade spicy aioli on everything you order. By the end of the meal, we were just licking it off our chopsticks. photo credit: Ryan Pfeffer Abusan Many of the rolls here come with curveball ingredients we’ve never met inside a sushi roll, like mango and eel, or spicy salmon and asparagus. This one features salmon, snow crab, asian pear, avocado, and a drizzle of yuzu aji amarillo. The unusual roommates get along so much better than anticipated. photo credit: Ryan Pfeffer Chicken Karaage Here, karaage comes in sandwich form, and it’s excellent. If you’re eating alone, sit at the bar, order this, and soak in the joy of having the crisp skinny fries all to yourself. photo credit: Ryan Pfeffer" - Ryan Pfeffer
