"At Fritz & Franz, strangers become friends through roaring cheers and collective sighs of relief at missed goals. This German spot has been a Gables fixture for over a quarter of a century, and it’s always the right answer for where to watch a big game. The dining room looks like a beer hall with long wooden mess tables, pressback chairs, and servers carrying steins of beer back and forth. There's a movie theater-size screen on one end of the room that’s always playing the day’s biggest game, and more TVs than a Best Buy entertainment section scattered around the giant restaurant. It’s also one of the very few German restaurants in Miami, so it’s worth coming here to eat pretzels the size of pizza boxes, wiener schnitzels, and apple strudels even if there’s not an important game happening." - Virginia Otazo
