"Petit Chou is a bakery in the East Village, and as the name suggests, they specialize in eclairs in a variety of flavors, topped with precise piping. But they also do a lot of laminated viennoiserie, from crisp, simple croissants to a cinnamon roll, and danishes with things like scallion cream cheese or passionfruit and raspberry meringue. About the only thing that isn’t dainty here is the chocolate chip cookie: a hefty specimen that’s almost the exact dimensions of a hockey puck. It falls squarely into the gooey category, though there is a noticeable crunch on the outside shell. photo credit: Emily Schindler" - Will Hartman
