MOSHIMO

Japanese restaurant · Brighton and Hove

"Much like students in their 20s, Moshimo knows how to have a good time and doesn’t really care about seating with back support. This is an izakaya-style Japanese restaurant where fun comes first and Asahi flows like a boozy sea ready to carry you right into the arms of the huge wooden sushi boats. In the red dining room, families celebrate birthdays and friends faux-commiserate the latest turns in their love lives over supersized maki. There’s a fun, novelty-act conveyor belt of gyoza, but our move is ordering a la carte to kick it with the classics like salmon nigiri and a plate of crunchy prawn tempura. Gather a group for an evening of sake margarita-sponsored silliness, and if the sun is shining, nab one of the big tables on the terrace out front. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley" - Heidi Lauth Beasley
