"You don’t go to Grain Barge to eat a prawn with exceptional pedigree. You go to Grain Barge to drink 2-4 pints with a golden hour harbour backdrop, trade banter with a big group of friends, and pray that a sadistic seagull doesn’t steal one of your sauced-up chips. This moored barge is first and foremost a very good time, and although the hold dining room is a cosy, scenic setting for a casual family meal, it’s worth the mountaineering trip up the stairs for that peak, tipsy captain feeling. We also have it on good authority that finding a quiet spot on the helm to dangle your feet and share a bottle of wine is prime flirt kindling. The outdoor space is walk-in-only so get there early and should you get peckish, stick to the two most prolific Fs for sunshine boozing—fries and fried nibbles." - Heidi Lauth Beasley
