"One of the Shore’s most charming restaurants is next to an arcade on the Avalon boardwalk—and walking through the door of Summer Salt instantly transports you a world away from the sounds of skeeball and the gleeful squeals of kids besting the claw machine. Get a table on the open-air terrace, or the enclosed front porch with its wall of windows framing the dunes and water. The restaurant is run by a husband-and-wife team (it was originally a pop-up that grew out of her nearby farm), and has a prix-fixe menu starring seasonal local produce and fresh seafood. The delicious scallops are a staple, but if you see the tagliatelle, a lemony dish with asparagus and heaps of crab, order it." - Regan Stephens
