"It’s hard to categorize this Calle Ocho spot, which is a little Cuban, Spanish, and Italian. But it’s a great place to be if you love an overachieving root vegetable. The dim, terracotta-colored restaurant makes an unbelievably soft malanga gnocchi that might ruin all future gnocchi for you. They also use malanga to make a silky shrimp bisque, and their enormous $36 pork chop rests on a cushion of creamed yuca dusted with lime zest. If this place seems like it knows Miami’s taste buds all too well, it’s because it’s from theTinta Y Cafeteam. And the breakfast specialists have proved that they’re just as good at dinner—and cocktails, which are as impressive as the food. This feels like one of those restaurants that could only exist in Miami." - Mariana Trabanino
