Alhaji Suya Brixton - Review - Brixton - London - The Infatuation

"This location of London’s most reliably tender, northern Nigerian suya spot is a little takeaway-only kiosk that may well change your lunch or dinner plans around Brixton. Once upon a time Alhaji Suya’s meat skewers were grilled fresh but now, chunks of tozo are given a flash of heat before being wrapped up and served with sliced red onion and tomato. This makes for a less consistently melt-in-your-mouth experience, but it’s still a good one with tingly, peanut-scented yaji sprinkled over the meat. Stick to the tozo, beef, or lamb—the chicken is a little soft for our liking—and combine them with jollof rice and plantain for an excellent-value meal. If you need a 4pm snack, get a suya meat pie.
