"There are few urges as strong as the longing to eat a bowl of soup (see also Pho Ha, above). When the temperature takes a dive and hunger strikes, head to Terakawa in Chinatown. The narrow, wood-paneled spot smells incredible, thanks to its ramen (which is some of the best in the city). The broths are all made in-house, and come with toppings like roast pork belly, mushrooms, and soy egg. One of our favorites is the tan tan ramen bathing in mildly spicy miso and chicken broth and packed with minced pork, bean sprouts, and chopped scallions." - alison kessler
