Ember - Review - Kreuzberg - Berlin - The Infatuation
"Sat on a rooftop in Kreuzberg (it’s not easy to find, and you’ll get an urge to turn back somewhere between the carpark and the fourth floor), this communal dining experience feels like a lively dinner party, straight out of an episode of Married at First Sight. Strangers sit alongside each other on one long table, passing platters of whole fish, roasted pumpkin, kohlrabi, and beef goulash. The menu changes with the seasons, and is best enjoyed at sunset before the clocks go back—that’s when you get a South-facing view of the city and the sky glows over the canal. Ember isn’t one for the socially anxious, though, so expect to make small talk with your neighbour and negotiate for the last potato.
