"Taikin falls into the ambiguous category of “Asian fusion.” But it does it better than most. The Doral spot has a large menu with straightforward sushi rolls, bao buns, and sashimi. The fusion aspect of this place happens with things like a picanha roll, picanha bao, and a burger with “samurai” fries (they’re just regular fries that come with a house sauce). The picanha bao and tuna tiradito are good, but focus more on the straightforward sushi rolls like the spicy tuna or tako tako roll with blue crab. They’re tasty and reliable options, unlike the bland ceviche mixto with hollow pieces of fried calamari on top. Still, it’s a decent lunch place if you're in the area. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino photo credit: Mariana Trabanino" - Mariana Trabanino
