"Lokal isn’t necessarily a classic, but they understand the Grove assignment as well as anyone. The graffiti on the walls reminds us of those spraypainted posters artists used to sell on the sidewalks back in the ‘90s. This place isn’t self-serious and knows you’re here to get uncomfortably full on a guava jelly frita and cold beer. They also have a meatloaf on the menu—for your dog. See?
