"Commune in Avondale Estates is a moody space designed for music lovers. So save the gab session with friends for another wine bar. Events here include themed DJ sets (think Spice Girl nights or deep dives into Dixieland jazz) and live music where the performer is close enough to smell the berry-scented pinot nero you’re sipping. The varied wine list rotates more often than the vinyl records that play over the first-class sound system. Since we have commitment issues, we always go for the $25 flight, which gets you three half-glasses of the night’s featured wine. There aren't many food offerings, but dishes like meaty scallops sitting in a rich ham broth help to make Commune a night well spent." - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder
