"Smitty’s is a hot dog truck, but their claim to fame is their onions. The all-blue truck has been parked in the exact same spot—Crossbay Boulevard and Pitkin Avenue—for overeight decades. And for 36 of those years it's been run by the exact same man, making the exact same onions. If you ask him what makes those onions the best, that man (Don) will tell you it’s because he makes them himself—“five gallons a week!” Don also sells Italian sausages, knishes, and shish kabobs, but if you’re going the hot dog route, get the combo—two dogs and a soda for $8—with those onions, obviously, and maybe a $20 t-shirt.
