"Katsu is a breaded and fried pork or chicken cutlet, and it’s a traditional Japanese dish usually served with rice and shredded cabbage. Imakatsu is hands-down our favorite spot for it because they manage to keep things crispy without being dry or overly fried and greasy. It sounds simple, but finding the right balance can be tough, and Imakatsu has it down to a science. You want to focus on their chicken tenderloin, but if it’s your first time, consider getting a mixed platter so you can try both their menchi (minced) and rosu (loin) cuts of meat too." - josh layne
