"We wish we could bottle the feeling of walking into Gramps Getaway on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, when the place is packed and the DJ is blaring a flawless mix of ‘80s hits. We’d call it “Essence Of Old-School Miami” and we’d sell it for $7,500 a piece. It’s a tragedy that this city doesn’t have more casual waterfront spots serving frozen drinks and excellent South Florida bar food. This is why Gramps Getaway can get so packed on the weekends. But circle the bar until you find a couple of open seats, or be smart and make a reservation. They accept them now. Gramps Getaway can get slammed on the weekends. The nicer the weather is, the more crowded it’ll be. But most people don’t know that you can make reservations here. So book one and walk right past the poor souls waiting at the host stand." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
