"There’s a bit of a handroll trend sweeping through South Florida, and Hallandale’s Casa Crudo is a respectable member of the club. This place is a pure and simple handroll bar—that’s all they serve (for now, at least). All the seating is at the big, rectangular counter, which takes up the whole space. Handrolls are available a la carte or in sets of three, four, or five. They’re all tasty, but the star is a salmon and chili crunch concoction with just a small whisper of tahini that adds a pleasant nuttiness. Get that, three or four more, and prepare to leave a little hungry. That’s an unfortunate side effect of the handroll trend." - Ryan Pfeffer
