But just off it, on Reuterstraße, is Aldimashqi—one of Berlin's best-known Syrian restaurants, serving outstanding shawarma in an area famous for it. If you’re grabbing one to go, order inside and collect the greasy, juicy wrap leaking with garlic mayo from the window. If you’re eating in, go for something a bit more sit-downy, like the mixed grill, stuffed vine leaves, hummus, and baba ganoush.
