Another Hand - Review - Deansgate - Manchester - The Infatuation
"In the dining room at Another Hand, warm light from low-hanging lamps glows over dried flowers in brass vases, as couples sink into tangerine velvet banquettes and teak-wood tables invite slow-burning evenings. The space, in a quiet development behind the hustle and bustle of Deansgate, breathes intimacy. The cooking, which feels Nordic in inspiration and Franco‑inflected in execution, puts a finessed, creative spin on modern British cuisine, with vegetable dishes so interesting, you could forgo meat (although the changing skewers are excellent). Bright flavours gain depth and edge with smoke, rich sauces, ferments, and pickles—such as smoked beetroot served with horseradish, charcoal cream, pickled mustard, and preserved blackberry, or a menu mainstay of hay-roasted hasselback potato with buttermilk, black garlic, and burnt butter.
