"Newer tiki bars try to capture the Blue Hawaii experience, but La Mariana is the real deal. Established in 1957, it’s Honolulu’s last original tiki bar and the bamboo-lined and palm-fringed oasis continues to serve the old salts with their sailboats parked in the nearby boat harbor, along with tiki-loving tourists. Glass fishing floats hang from the ceiling and remnants of other long-shuttered tiki bars—think pufferfish lamps, carved tikis, and rattan chairs—have found their way here.
