"As you approach Toad Bakery’s small shop front and catch a whiff of freshly baked bread, a Pavlovian response kicks in. It straddles Peckham and Camberwell, with a few colourful stools out front and a counter heaving with gooey, vegan cookies, buttery croissants, and cardamom-heavy cinnamon buns. Get one of the slow-braised goat bear claw pastries if they’re on. Cafe Mondo, next door, uses Toad’s bread to make their excellent sandwiches.
