- Review - Lower East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"Pizza purists, stay in your lane. Everybody else, head to Cuts & Slices’ third location on the Lower East Side. The mini pizza empire made a name for itself off of doughy pies topped with things like saucy oxtail, curry shrimp, and slightly spicy jerk chicken—and lines out front are common. Meeting people who’ve traveled here from out of state, just for oxtail pizza, isn’t unheard of either. photo credit: Willa Moore photo credit: Brendan Edwards photo credit: Willa Moore The prices run higher than your average slice—the oxtail is $13—but when it comes to pizza loaded with jerk chicken and black truffle alfredo sauce, one triangle is essentially a whole meal. There are a few tables inside this East Houston spot, but it's also right across the street from Parkside Lounge, a bar with a pool table that allows outside food. Food Rundown Sweet Chili Oxtail The star slice. The oxtail isn’t a topping as much as it is a sauce, with the sticky-sweet meat clinging to every square inch. Jerk Chicken Black Truffle Alfredo If you've had a soft spot for alfredo on pizza since your Domino's years but always feared judgment, this one's for you. It's creamy with a little funk from the jerk. The truffle gets a little lost, but that's okay. There's more than enough going on here anyway. Curry Shrimp More shrimp on pizza. That’s all we’ve got to say. Don’t knock it until you try it." - Willa Moore
