"If the top floor of the Grand Hyatt in Pedralbes isn’t where you’d typically go looking for the latest dining hotspot, you’re missing out. Maymanta is substance over style with swoony rooftop views and beautiful people hoping to make it into the society pages. You’ll find all the usual Peruvian suspects including more delicately presented riffs on raw fish than you can count. Dishes like the octopus tiradito or the red tuna ceviche strike the perfect balance of spice and zippy acidity. Still, the one to zero in on is the bite-sized, crunchy corn tortita topped with a creamy shrimp tartare and crispy baby camaroncitos, or tiny deep-fried shrimp. As for their pisco sours, they might be the best we’ve ever had. photo credit: Maymanta" - Isabelle Kliger
