"Local is the rare Jackson spot with white linen napkins instead of paper ones. It’s one of the fancier spots in town, filled with paintings on the wall by local artists and dishes made up of ingredients grown as close to the restaurant as possible. Even in a town dedicated to its meat, the burger here stands out. They use a blend of ribeye, New York strip, and filet mignon, grill it so it’s got a nice char, and serve it on a perfectly toasted brioche bun with a few slathers of tangy homemade mayonnaise. It’s also a great move if you want to stop by just to sit at the U-shaped bar and order some fries made from Idaho potatoes. Check out Million Dollar Cowboy Bar next door, where you can listen to a live country band while sitting on undeniably fun saddle barstools." - Lanie Brice
