"Red Coffee Stand is predictably all red and wedged beneath the stairs of an otherwise very gray building on Front Street. You won’t see it from the street, but you will see a small sign that says, “Red Coffee Stand” in masking tape. Less predictably, they also sell soup. Though that detail starts to make more sense when you consider that this is a collaboration between Hot Soup and Ants Coffee. The soups taste like something you could make at home if you knew your way around a perfect chicken stock, which you might not, and that’s alright. Sometimes these sell out, so go on the earlier side. If you don’t make it, don’t despair. The chocolate alfajores at the counter are rich and gooey, and the fridge is usually stocked with something fun to eat later. Last time we went, we got roasted scape meatballs with chicken and pork. Had we had more space in our bag, though, we may have also invested in some “DAMN GOOD ROASTED YAMS” with five exclamation points. photo credit: Willa Moore" - Willa Moore
