"From the outside, Spitalfields looks like any other gorgeous Victorian pub in Dublin where one Guinness turns into four and you promise to invite the barman whose name you forgot to your future wedding. But it isn’t. This is a polished pub restaurant serving modern British food like cock-a-leekie pie or rhubarb and lemongrass custard millefeuille. The barmen are charmers, pouring pints and telling stories like old-timers around a fire, and the food is comforting stuff. Sitting at the downstairs bar, dipping an oxtail-filled Parker House roll into gravy with a Guinness next to you, listening to a server recommend a dictionary’s worth of pubs to other visitors sitting at the bar, is a lovely way to get to know Dublin. photo credit: Dena Shearer photo credit: Dena Shearer photo credit: Dena Shearer Pause Unmute" - Jake Missing
