"Open since 1966, The Stud is one of San Francisco’s oldest queer bars, so naturally, it has a big reputation to uphold. And we’re happy to report that a night here is still full of go-go dancers, twerk contests, and a whole lot of love. After a four-year closure, they’ve reopened in a SoMa location still somehow feels old school, even if it’s much bigger and has a back patio now. Some of the old signs have returned, and overall, it’s a kitschy mess—just as it should be. They’re open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so make sure to check their website to find the best dance parties, drag shows, and community-specific Happy Hours around." - ricky rodriguez, peter astrid kane
