The Lexington At The Picnic Grove Review - Cambridge - Boston - The Infatuation

"It’s prime summer time right now, and thankfully there are almost . But if you’re like us, you’re looking for something new and fun in your life - something better than yet another virtual first-date. That’s where The Lexington At The Picnic Grove comes in handy. We recently checked out this new outdoor-only spot and found some people who were on real dates - something we totally forgot was a thing. In any case, here’s everything you need to know about this East Cambridge picnic place. What exactly is The Lexington at the Picnic Grove? The team from were supposed to open three restaurants at Cambridge Crossing this summer: a rooftop bar, an Italian spot, and an all-day cafe. But, you know, global pandemic. While they’ve pushed reopening back to the fall, they’ve decided to do a preview of sorts. And that’s the origin story of this summer venue. Why the long name? Honestly, we have no idea. We also can’t remember the last time we used the word “grove.” What can I expect? A pretty casual spot in the middle of all the new construction in East Cambridge, with quite a few outdoor tables and umbrellas. You scan a QR code for the menu, and to place an order. All the food is prepared by cooks under a tent. Oh, and there’s also beer and wine available. Do I need a reservation? In theory, reservations are required and can be made on their . But we also saw plenty of parties that just walked in on opening weekend. What are their hours? Right now, The Lexington at the Picnic Grove is open from 4-8pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 12-8pm on the weekends. Is there anything else I need to know? Parking is a little challenging in the area, so picking a different mode of transportation would be a good idea if you prefer not to circle the block for 25 minutes. Also, the food portions are on the smaller side, so think of it as a place for heavier snacks instead of a full meal. What did you order? Excellent question. Please direct your attention to the food rundown below." - Joel Ang
