"You can have two types of experiences at the French restaurant Michel's Christiania: The first is to grab a spot at the bar (where tables are for walk-ins only) and gaze at photos of U.S. Olympic skiers the owner personally coached. The second is to make a reservation for the dining room and enjoy your escargot and mussels next to a table that’s bringing home a filet mignon just for their poodle. Whichever path you choose, order the shoestring pommes frites, which are quite possibly the best this side of the Atlantic.
