"Before we start using seductive words like ‘wine’ and ‘cheese’, know that Unwined is closed at the weekend. If you’re currently panic-searching for a restaurant in Waterloo at 9pm on a Saturday, we’re sorry. However, if you’re in the market for a cosy corner to sip chilled red and nibble on fresh, warm flatbread with feta midweek, then this cabin-esque wine bar on Lower Marsh fits the bill. It’s a one-size-fits-all kind of restaurant where 20-somethings crowd around the big group tables by the windows and sip £5 glasses of grenache, while a couple of dapper old gents share the £40 sharing menu out in the secluded back terrace. It tends to be busy so it’s worth booking ahead, and scotch egg enthusiasts, take note—the confit duck take is a slightly spicy, yolk masterclass. photo credit: Alicia Clarke Photography" - Heidi Lauth Beasley
